They’re incredibly vapid when it comes to understanding the physical world, things like understanding that if you’re connected to somebody with a leash you can’t go on the other side of the lamppost. There’s good evidence that that really is a cognitive constraint. They just don’t get it.

Craigslist Ads for rooms in SF

I’ve been perusing on Craigslist daily since mid-December looking for a place to live in in SF and I swear I’ve seen the following 3 things come up every time I go on there to search.

1. Vegetarian households (some places even mention not being allowed to have meat in the fridge or cooked in the house)

2. No overnight guests (some with no exceptions). What does that even mean? If I pay rent, don’t I get to to have some say-so?

3. Ridiculous rents for seemingly unworthy places in shady parts of SF. Really? You want me to pay $1500-$2000 for a closet-sized room with no kitchen? What is a kitchenette anyways? A mini-fridge and a microwave?

Well, despite these weird ads, I’m keeping my hopes up. I want to find a place in the city sometime before April/May. I’m sending positive vibes out there to find a reasonably priced place with just a couple of the things on my apartment “wishlist” (lots of settling will have to be done, or so I’ve been told). Fingers crossed! Keep me posted if any of you know of anyone looking for a roommate in SF.

I recently saw something on Pinterest that I loved—Shopbop designed a “workwear ultimate closet” with a few key items and then created 10 work-appropriate looks from those items.
